If it was really transparent...
We would be able to see the oil, coolant, mud, dirt and grime squirting all over the engine bay :

I'm not much for Land Rover's new Terrain Response gizmos that lock and unlock my T-case in an out, nor torque biased T-cases that won't move the car when you are forced to remove a drive shaft. I can't get all that interested to air shocks that set the body on the top of your over-sized tires when their is a thought of a fault.
Lots of things Land Rover does these days seems to be all fluff. But for once, this HUD "transparent hood", heck, just the clinometer part, are things that I think would be just as useful in Moab as they are cool.
If they put one of these as an option behind a US-legal solid-axled 2017 Defender, I may actually buy a new Land Rover instead of a 15 year old one. (assuming it won't be $100k!)
