Default ignition switch replacement

My key would not turn my ignition switch. I bought a used key, tumbler, and ignition switch assembly, read what I could find about this procedure on this forum and took out the old and put in the new. When I tried to start the car all the alarms went off and the car wouldn't start. I put the old ignition switch on the new, used, key assembly but again the alarms went off and no start. (I think that the alarm system is the only thing on the car that hasn't broken) What can be done to get the car to start?

Do you have a key fob that works or a key that fits the door? If so, lock and unlock the vehicle and that should disarm it. NAS DII's don't have the "chip in the key" anti-theft system so changing the ignition lock/switch shouldn't directly affect the security system.

I have keys for the doors but neither fob is functioning both have lost the buttons. Is there another way to disarm the system?

Disconnect the battery and let it sit for a day?

Good news bad news, I followed your suggestions and the car cranks perfectly with the replacement ignition switch & tumbler, no alarms no flashing lights, however the bad news is the car will not start. The car had been running great, my check engine light was not even on. I pulled the battery and will charge it overnight and I'm throwing in a can of dry gas, it's been fairly cold. Any other suggestions? Thanks for all your help over the years.
