Default ignition switch replacement

My ignition locks up when turned all the way off. I took off the surround and got it to turn back and am now leaving in the half way position and leaving the key in. British Atlantic lists the ignition at $450. Roverparts lists what appears to be the same thing at $250. Is this the part most likely to cause the lock up. Any reason why I shouldn't go with the $250 part and is this a difficult change out. My ride is a 98 Discovery I. New to this forum but I've had my discoveray for 5 years. I post and read on an Alfa and BMW board and have gotten and given some good advice on those boards. Any advice here appreciated.

Default RE: ignition switch replacement

To answer my own query for the edification of anyone interested: I did buy the $250 ignition from Roverland Parts Inc. in Tampa, Fla (www.roverlandparts.com) and they shipped Fed Ex. Ordered yesterday and it arrived today. The guy on the phone was very helpful and the part looks like an easy dyi job. I located a lock smith through the dealer that will rekey the barel for $65. With a list price of $450 and the labor charge from my mechanic or the dealer this would have been a $600 repair. Should work out to about $330 with Fed Ex charge and lock smith charge.
