I'm getting fed up!
I'M ABOUT READY TO RIPE OUT THOSE ****ING WIPER ASSEMBLIES!
Dont need help with anything, just need to vent some serious frustrations. So a week ago I switched my wiper blades to the winter set sold by Atlantic British, 15 minutes later while on the highway the passenger wiper arm stopped working and went "floppy" on me! Upon examination the wiper arm could be moved all over the place without any resistence, probably indicating that the wiper arm came lose from the mechanical. Never got around to working on it. A couple days later the passenger wiper arm fixed itself and worked exactly how it should. I examined it and it felt firmly secure with resistance. TODAY during our first major snow storm the drivers side gos nuts, goes out of synth and starts hitting the passenger wiper then they go down and wont move! WTF is up with these cursed wiper assemblies? Simplest thing on this vehicle and they just want to make my life miserable. Cant tell you how irrating it is to see your wipers stop working or going ape **** right in font of your eyes, meanwhile your windshield is quickly piling up with snow/sleek/mud....
I recently replaced BOTH front wiper arms and purchased 3 sets of wiper blades for the front (2 summer blade sets and 1 winter set) add a new rear wiper motor assembly and wiper blade and now you can imagine my frustration! Of all the things to go wrong on this Disco, the ****ing wipers!
Sucks because its been way to dam cold out lately (on average (-10!) for me to even think about going out in a storm to diagnose/repair anything on my truck. Was suppose to change transfer case and transmission fluids as well but the storm but a hault on that plan. I dont have garage or a warm dry place where I can work on my disco......

I left for work this morning at 5am, I tried to take a pic of the outside temp display reading (-10) but it was so cold my smartphone could not focus and a message popped up saying flash will not work cause its to cold! Snow in the driveway was up to my knees..... highway was a white barren wasteland with nobody on the road and covered in a few inches of snow and ice. sigh I wish I had a garage! Cant wait to relocate. Tired of outsdie weather holding me back from getting **** done.
Man, and i'm complaining about CT weather and wanting to move farther south. One of my clients is from and still has land in AK. She said it would get down to -30 for weeks at a time. I literally can't imagine what the cold soak on everything would be like. F-ing miserable. YUCK!

Windscreen wipers to be consigned to history? - Telegraph ..............there's a problem though! it's not yet available and it'll probably cost more than your trucks worth
I hear you.
I was trying to get the RainX mod to work (slightly different model than the one in the DIY post -I couldn't find that one).
Sure enough, the driver's side worked great, the passenger's required the 180 degree bracket swap.
I thought I had it......until the -20F snowstorm and I threw the passenger wiper right off the arm! Luckily, it lodged into the hood instead of flying off into the snow (30mph conditions).
I said, "Forget it!"
Parked the Rover, got the full Disco 1 kit from Atlantic British and waited until it got to 11F to do the swap.
5 minutes and $50 later, and I'm never going to have to worry about disco 2 wipers again!
They may not look as "clean", but the Disco 1 setup is just so simple....it should have never changed. I highly recommend swapping!

The problem is not the wipers, and yes Im using genuine wipers from AB. Dont care for the mods. The issue is the wiper arms coming lose. I inspected them today and sure as **** they were both really lose. Repositioned wipers and tightened up the nuts, so far so good but for how long? Was thinking about using locktit but thought it may not be a good idea seeing how I switch the blades a couple times per year.....
