I'm starting to hate this car!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
Let me go ahead and say, I don't want to be chastised. I don't want to be lectured. If I wanted either of those I would get married and complain to my wife and let her lecture me. What I want to do right now is gripe a little bit (b/c this truck just keeps throwing stuff at me and I'm slowly drowning in a sea of leaks and warning lights). I feel like with all the $%@# life has/is throwing at me right now I've earned it.
So I've been battling an oil leak for the past bit (yes I've been keeping an eye on the level, pressure washing the engine, and searching for leaks), I crawl under the car last weekend and see that there's trans fluid on the underside of the transmission. I'm going to service the transmission this weekend so I'm hoping that will fix that problem.
It's raining hard in Tn today and during lunch I pull up to a stop sign and the forward momentum from the car causes water to POUR from my sunroof controll piece all over my dash and radio. I've already looked up how to fix this, so no big deal, just check the drain tubes.......Oh I'm not done.....oooohhh no not yet
I pull up to the gym and throw the car in park and what happens?!!!! THE THREE F'N AMIGOS!!!!!!! God strike me down now! I don't even know where to begin with this. I barely have time for the other problems without having to address this one.....and I'm dropping all of my freakin money into maintainence that was never performed! How big of a deal is this? What do I do about it, and how much is it going to cost?

And everyone says a 2004 is the best year haha. I think we all go through these things sooner or later. In the 2 years I have my 03 D2, I started off with valve cover gaskets, then it needed headgaskets, then it was a rear main and transfer case leak, then my rear sunroof leaked, just last week my radiator went. The truck has 91k on it. On top of all this, the rear main is still leaking-not as bad but still leaking! Going back in to repair after the holidays. I do enjoy it when I am driving it, does very well on my occasional offroad trip. I keep telling myself, once the repairs are done, it doesn't need it again.

There is something that makes it easier though: realizing that it's totally normal. You're not doing anything wrong. Rovers are NOT the most reliable vehicles out there, though they are fun and look good. Set aside money each month for repairs and tackle them one by one. Call Mike, he's writes the book on Rover repair.
As for the Amigos, I'm getting them myself. Oh well. It's not going to kill you, it's just that you don't have ABS, which could be a problem in snow/offroad.
Your leaks are normal. Just keep your fluids up while you track them down.
When my Amigos show up I still have working ABS and TC.
