Immobiliser bypass how to
Hello, I am a first time Rover owner with a 2000 Discovery II. The current state of the vehicle is in a total overhaul and modification mode (does not run yet). I want to have a kill switch installed which eliminates the need for the immobiliser. With that being said I have a brand new BCU/ECU unit to install due to the old one being inoperable(fried). I have purchased a Nanocom programmer to assist in syncing the BCU/ECU to the current immobiliser. I still need to get my hands on a bypass for a 2000 Disco II. My dilema is I have no idea of how to get one that will sync to the immobiliser and fake the signal to the new BCU/ECU; I don't want to fry it. Has anyone ever done this before or does anyone know of some sites or places to look at that will assist in how to do this kind of work? I am in South Florida, so if anyone knows of a shop that may be able to assist that may work also.
Why do you want to add this complication to all the other work facing you?
Why doesn't the factory immobilization system secure the truck for you adequately? It works well for the rest of us.
That said, here's a link to the Valeo ECU BCU Guide linked at the Nanocom Diagnostics site. It has all the information about the immobilization system. Information about the immobilization system can also be found in the RAVE Workshop Manual. Do you have the RAVE?
