The Infamous Amplifier Bypass Saga

The Infamous Amplifier Bypass Saga
Hi there Everyone... Call me crazy, but here is what I am about to try and do... I dumped the old cassette deck from my 97 Disco I and replaced it with a nice JVC model and a Bluetooth expansion adapter. Knowing that I would get the standard buzz and hiss from the existing amplifier, I am setting off in what will hopefully be a successful mission.
I have no interest in re-running speaker cable. Sooooo, that can only mean one thing. Every amplifier has inputs and outputs right? So, isn't it possible to just cut and splice the in's and out's right at the amplifier rather than re-run cable?
If anyone has experience doing this, I would love to know their wiring diagram. Otherwise, I am going to try and produce my own and then post it here. Let me know if anyone has recommendations! Thanks so much!

I am guessing this is a D1 you are talking about? The amp uses a common ground input, therefore it will not work (not enough wires). you must at least run wires from the deck to the amp. Pretty basic at the amp, twisted pairs for outputs. I don't remember what the wire colors are but the rave manual explains it. You will have to integrate the sub wiring if you want to keep that. I can help you as this is how I did mine and how I recommend others do it.

Thanks Rover Chris... I attempted the bypass for the fun of it, but I had a back-up plan. The common ground is certainly an issue when attempting to wire in an aftermarket deck. So, when I came to my senses, I ordered a OEM-2 from Crutchfield and put it in last night. Pretty straight forward install. However, a word for those that use this (with the 97 Disco 1 anyway)... the ground Pin in the connector from Crutchfield's included adapters is misplaced for this truck. So, I moved it. Everything works now with the factory amplifier and it sounds great.
