For lower hose, best fit is Gates 22073,.(fits perfect),, For inline T-stat housing 1.25" is too skinny, Best fit is 1.33" = 34 mm.
(Edit), And you need to put a bleeder in the top radiator hose that runs over fan shroud, makes bleeding very easy.

Also make sure to drill a hole in the base of the thermostat if it doesn't already have one and make sure that the hole sits at the 12 o'clock position when installing it inside the housing. If this is not done bleeding is very difficult.

Sorry for the double post, do you have a part number for your preferred housing? Thanks.

Sorry, I don’t have the part # for 1.33” = 34mm housing, but the same one you bought also comes in that size.
i just used 2 T-stat housings from couple old Volvo’s (244-240) from junk yard, and put them back to back, they work just fine,
have them on both my Disco’s.

Good call, commonly not known. You're correct! Water works much better for cooling but it'll freeze and it provides no lubrication. Fine for a race motor.
