Installed 180 thermostat and now overheating

The inline mod is great, but so is a correct 180F. Yep Lucky8 is apparently not going to do a thing about their so called britpart 180F 44.00 thermostat when it’s really just an el cheapo that really only cost 11.00 on Ebay. That’s a nice 33.00 profit on their part.

All this mis-labeling has given the OEM style 180F thermostats a bad wrap. Guarantee if this issue had happened to another vendor I know it would have been fixed instantly!

I still buy stuff from Lucky8 occasionally, but if the wrong brand or a cheaper substitute arrives I will be returning it for a full refund ASAP. That is NOT how you do business.

If I do the inline mod, which I may, I will probably go with a 190 thermostat. When I tested my cooling system without a thermostat it stayed below 180 idling, so IMO an inline 190 is better, but hey, what do I know. I haven't even done it yet.

i Did this mod a few years ago and havent looked back... my disco here in south Florida runs around 183-188 and occasionally up to 194 .. and that is on the hottest and muggiest swampiest of days!

Im usually at 194 with the inline mod with 180 tstat but im at altitude
