Default Installing new Front Speakers

I pulled the door off. Unscrewed the lower molding from the inside of the door panel. What I get is a speaker whose holes aren't in the correct spot, and an attachment that is not compatible.

Should I drill holes and use the old screw/washers?

and

How do I get a wiring setup that is compatible.

Thanks
Sean

Its possible to get a regular quick release connector and solder the other end to the speaker? So when your regulator get bad, you dont have to cut the wires. With the screws, just get a self tapping screw and just place a bead of adhesive silicone so it wont vibrate inside the panel when you turn the volume up.

Not sure about a connector, but I just cut the ends off of my wires to install my speakers.

So cut the connector, and push the wires into the female quick slides? Never done it before.

The ones pictured are the JBL6520. My friend likes JBL, so I went with them. Crutchfield has that they fit, but the holes are totally off. And the adaptor isn't correct either. So much for easy install.

Here is the adapter. Not correct for the 2002 Disco.

Actually, you can get a crimp style connector for those blade type.

Home depot have them as well with different sizes. So it will be easier to remove once you need to remove the panel.

Trying to get adapters and stuff would be a major headache in my opinion.

I would learn how to crimp electrical connections and you're good to go. It's not rocket science

wire stripper:
Amazon Amazon
crimper:
Amazon Amazon

For the terminals you want something quality like 3M from delcity or mcmaster is your best bet.
