Installing an Oil Pressuge Gauge on a 2003 Disco II
#11
Installed the Cyberdyne Green LED oil pressure guage tonight. Painted the A-Pillars black with Rustolium truck bed liner. They now resemble the dashboard texture. Relocated the driver's side tweeter about 3 inches higher. Heat molded the black guage pod to the A-pillar used some Bondo and caulk to make it look smooth on all parts of the A-Pillar. I think this looks really custom and cool. Digital guage is set to flash if oil pressure falls below 15psi. I am very happy with this mod! iPhone app is named vehical clinometer. Just found another app that shows a Defender. The cockpit just got cooler.

Yes Spike those are both 2 1/8" diameter gauges. Like the large display you see behind the counter at Oreilly's. If you remove the A-pillars & paint them flat black and install the black gauge pod it looks very nice and custom. You can even use a heat gun to form the pod perfectly around the pillar. After researching all this stuff for about 2 weeks, I found all A-pillars even in black interior Disco's are all beige(non black). So I painted mine tonight. The A-pillars dont come off without a little fight, but are held on nicely with 3 metal spring clips. I painted them with the left over Rustolium truck bed liner I had from the wheel well project. It adds a nice texture that resembles the dashboard finish.

Lee97Disco1,
I think most all should be the same. Although you might have engine oil cooler lines on the front cover in those plugs. I know the 99-2002 Dico II's did. But there still might be a open plug on your DI. You will have to investigate. Otherwise follow the instructions and pictures and let up know if you need some help.

when this one goes bad, just look up Seller "authentic-boosting" on ebay.
or do a search for "M20x1.5".
Good luck!
