I have an 04 and was intending to using one of the plugs for the oil cooler my truck does not have to mount the sensor.

Has anyone else removed those plugs, and are there any gotcha's I should lookout for ?

I have the gauge, sensor and adapter in hand just looking for some pre-install feed back

 

I've done exactly what you're talking about, worked perfectly no issues to watch out for. I will add that I did buy an extra plug from O'Reilly, turns out it was aluminum and really easy to drill

 

HAve you concidered a Scangauge or Ultragauge that your can plug into your OBDII port to monitor temps?
There are other OBDII scan tools that your can use to monitor temps from your smart phone or tablet instead of drilling and modding your Disco.

 

A pressure gauge is not a temperature gauge.
