Installing a Temp Gauge on a 2003 Disco II
#16
engine temp
I would say the normal observed engine temp is:
- 188F no A/C highway (outside temp below 80)
- 195F - 205F with A/C in the city above 80 degree outside.
- 1 bottle of water wetter. coolant change with the last 3 months
- Everyone should check to see that their AC condenser fan is running. It will make you Rover run up to 10 degrees hotter with it broken.

Tito, GOTTA ask, did you buy your Disco that clean or disassemble everything and put each component through a hot bath?
Very nicely done, though I'd prefer a less intrusive (i.e. no holes) pillar set...I'm not sure the value of adding an aftermarket temp gauge though? I figure the factory one is accurate enough even though I don't know the exact temp.

My Disco was pretty clean from when I purchased it. I got it from a private owner and was very well taken care of. Before him, it was a lease vehicle and dealer maintained. Another positive is that it has lived in LA most of its life from around 3K to now at 57K. Originally came from Virginia. Carfax checked out nicely too. The only thing that I did was add some engine shine about 1 month ago, it protects the plastics and provides a nice shine to the engine on all the parts!
