Hm, good to know, didn't realize that. All the more reason to get a ScanGauge...

Isn't there place the temp probe can be inserted without having to buy that big adapter and cutting into the hose?

Yeah, bend over
Sorry, just kidding. I have been thinking of replacing the T with something that is drilled and tapped to take the 1/4 probe and do away with the bleed screw, or have 2 tapped holes to accommodate both.
Another option is to do what the Mustang guys do, drill and tap the intake manifold in the same area where the stock sensor is. I looked at mine when it was off and there is an ideal spot with a flat surface. It takes some commitment though.

I read this in an old thread on Dweb:

"I used an analog gauge and installed the probe on the pass-side, under the header. There is a Hex plug there. Just remove the hex plug and install the probe."

Anyone know exactly what this guy was talking about?

Possibly one of the block drain plugs?
Was it on a D1 or D2?

That's the drain plug next to the knock sensor, it will sit above the engine mount. I have a block in my garage and will go check it out tonight.

I'm planning on hooking up my sending units tonight, was it determined whether or not this drain plug is an acceptable place for the temp-sensor?
