Default intake hose meter, maf differences @4.6

what gives? what are the differences? do I need to source an 03/04 set up? is the filter lid different, too? is the actual maf different?
maf efficiency?

Sure looks like it would change airflow dynamics, maybe have an affect on torque. Do you need a picture of the air filter housing lid for an '03? I can snap a pic.

Please do. I found confirmation that p38 and d2 4.6 air box lid is the same.
I didn't know that there was a difference in our 99-02 vs. 03-04

Same filter so I have to assume that the hose connection differs

The MAF to air lid is a larger circumference. But the filter is the same size. Not sure about the other side of the MAF though.

I believe the side of the MAF that faces the intake manifold is the same size. I agree the diameter of the MAF side that goes toward the airbox cover is a larger circumference.

Ab, it was your thread that led me to the p38/4.6 interchangeability.

I am still a bit lost as to the benefits. if there is one. larger circumference shouldn't make an impact on the amount or freedom of air flow, right?

I know the MAF circumference and the Air box to MAF is bigger, Not sure about the other.
I have a 4.6 hose assembly here. I will ship it to you when I send all the sensors I owe you.
