I think I would put the top half of that piece of hose yo cut out back on top of it, so I wouldn't drop a wrench on it and break it. Peak under the piece of rubber hose whenever you care to.

I never mess with tools near the middle of my LR. I always sit em down above the head lights. A towel is a good CYA, but they guy I bought if from says it takes a lot to break it as it’s not just a glass tube.

Just sliding the hose on and tightening the clamps would have made a standard glass tube shatter.

I’m very happy with the mod, and you can tell instantly when the thermostat fully opens as the flow increases right before your eyes. Overall my cooling system on my 232k Kalahari D2 is very clean.

Lots of people including my wife were all like thats so COOL lol.
