Default Interior light and rear wiper issues...

Hi, all! I have a '97 D1 SD with two electrical headscratchers. The interior lights function perfectly (dim off when all doors are closed, turn on/off properly with each door, etc.). However, when the key is in the ignition and the truck is started, they don't go out. They stay on all of the time while driving and while the engine is running, but, once the key is turned off, they will wait a few seconds and will go out. I've poked around in the steering column and have unplugged/plugged several of the connectors in there in hopes that it would be a corrosion issue somewhere in there, and I've taken out and checked all of the door pins and everything seems just fine. Any thoughts?

Also, the rear wiper isn't working. I pulled, cleaned, and tested the motor, the diode and the contacts, and all of that seems to work fine. I shorted the brown/yellow wire to the middle terminal of the 3-pin connector and the motor runs perfectly (the position of the switch on the dash doesn't affect whether the motor runs or not). Using a volt meter, I get 12v between the brown/yellow and the other two pins regardless of whether the switch on the dash is on or off (ignition on).

Thanks in advance for your help.

Could be a multi-function unit issue. its on the backside of the fuse box below the steering wheel. the RAVE manual,i believe, has a procedure on how to test it-if you look around, a few people have links where to get the rave manual

Default Did the whole MFU diag...

... and here's what I found.

Rear wiper:

Switch on: two beeps
Switch off: two beeps
No action from the wiper at all

Interior lights:

Checked all doors: all doors but driver's door: two beeps
Driver's door: no beeps, but, does turn on the interior lights and door chimes under normal operation. The pin switch tests as good.

So, there we have it.

Thanks, again, for anyone's help.

Default Follow-up...

Well, I have a new MFU and the problem persists. I removed all of the door switches (so that the interior lights wouldn't turn on) and tested everything again, and, still, the same results.

Any more thoughts??

Thanks!
