I checked the shock mounts and have been driving it around the block trying to listen for the sound. A better description would be the same sound a CV joint makes when it's going. I noticed the front axle has what looks like a CV boot at the junction where it meets the hub. Could this be my culprit?

I checked the RAVE after posting my message asking about a CV joint, and I can confirm it dies in fact have them. In the past, when I've had them going out, they clicked more during hard turns. Any clicking?

It sounds exactly like a bad CV joint but happens when I'm going down straight roads as well. Doesn't seem to be dependent on turning like the bad cv joints I've had on other cars in the past

Could still be the CV, or maybe just the Wheel Bearing? Can you jack it up and turn the wheel and see if it makes the sound by just spinning the wheel. That would tell you if it's the wheel bearing.

I'll have to try that, although its not a constant sound. It has increased but is not doing it all of the time. It does it for maybe a second, then nothing for twenty thirty minutes and does it at different speeds.
