It's car washing day in Georgia!
I'm staying at my parent's home in Georgia for the next few months and today I got to wash the road dirt and grime off of my Disco! We have a steady rain and with the extreme drought conditions and water restrictions I'd got out and washed the car early; soap it up and let the rain do the rinse. The neighbors kind of wondered if I had lost it but at least a rain water rinse leaves less water spots on the paint!
I too am a big fan of power scrubbing the engine. It looks good, makes it so much nicer to tinker with and, most of all, it lets you see those pesky leaks before they become a bigger issue.
Just to add on, I took a clay bar to the hood, and let me tell you, it looks great! And it feels really smooth. What I found is that I thing there was some acid on my hood and thats the only thing that the caly bar didn't fix (obviously). But once I get a hood blackout on there it wont matter!
SO if you want your finsish to look good, go grab a mothers clay bar kit, it works great!

I'm amazed at what a clay bar can take off.
I tend to get pretty wet when I washthe car anyways, so I don't mind the rain. It does a good job of rinsing the left over soap off and you can take your time when scrubbingbecause there is no sun to dry the soapy water on. I thinkit kind of looks a little nuts to the neighbors though.
