just enjoy driving my 03 Disco 2
I was drving through the rain this evening on the way home from work, yes the engine tick is there, hey its a 4.6 they tick, live with it or throw money at it and was thinking how much I enjoy drving it.
When I parked up at the grocery store and walked away I thought, wow what a great truck. Yes I await this to fail or that to fail but you know what... It doesn't matter. Sitting there with the 2" lift big tires it brought a smile to my face knowing that was my Disco. When was the las time you just enjoyed drving your Disco?

I've been enjoying riding truck alot lately. Cruising on my 2 inch lift with a constant 195F on the ultragauge after just checking the oil(it reading full). Knowing that you don't have immediate problems is awesome.
Yup, just the other day I was feeling the same way and even posted a picture of the light free dash and ultra gauge at 183. I also forgot to thank all the guys on this forum, so thanks!! All the write ups, how to's, and help, make owning and working on this truck sooooo much easier.
Every time I get into it. That's why I buy cars. If I'm not enjoying it, I move on. So far, knock on wood, it's been a pleasure to own. I came from a Jaguar XJR (also known for being unreliable) and loved it, so thought I'd try the 4X4 version of it. Neither the Jaguar, nor this Rover have given me major headaches yet.
But, I am picky when looking for a vehicle. I like to get babied vehicles.

We all come running here when we have problems. A new member or none owner would think at first glance that the Discos are always breaking down. True, they are not a Toyota but they blow the Yotas away on the "coolness" chart. I to loved my Jag. We had it for about 5 years and almost no issues. I sold it to my father-in-law who is now enjoying it.
I've had a Disco II since 2000. Been all over the states and Mexico. Loved all the backroads and trails we've driven. Only once was it wouldn't start. Right after I first got it, We were in Creel Mexico on the rim of Copper Canyon. Found a couple of Mexican " Mechanics. They Called the dealer in Chihuahua city and they told them which relay to jump out til I got there and got a replacement.
Other than that it always gets me where I'm going. The 99 is wearing down, 220000 and I just finished head gaskets. Now If I can get the air flushed out of the coolant I hope to be driving it again this weekend. But I have a spare Disco just in case..
Love my Disco.
