Just to vent...
Sorry guys, just needed a place to vent.
Some *&^%&^*#$ stole my rear light assemblies last night.
Man, this really angers me. Not that it is that big of a deal, but the audacity of it really bothers me, especially since I live on a out of the way block.
This is my only vehicle for child transport and since I can't order the part till Monday I'll probably get pulled over. If I get pulled over for no brake lights my blood will really boil.
Funny how even just posting this thread has made me laugh. Unbe Fn' levable.
Thanks.

I don't live in the greatest neighborhood, but thankfully, nothing has been stolen from or out of any of my cars (knock on wood). The neighborhood is such that I keep a loaded pistol within reach at all times in the apartment (probably don't need it, but it makes me feel better). Legally, you cannot shoot someone for stealing your property. Ohio Governor Ted Strickland did one good thing passing the law saying if someone that shouldn't be in your house is in there, you have the right to fire on them, even if they are not threatening you. Just because I can't legally shoot someone for stealing property doesn't mean I can't shoot at them.

I also live in a horrid neighborhood and am stuck parking my discovery on a pretty busy street. I was woke up one morning by a knock on my door. It was a cop explaining that my car had been broken into. Someone broke the smaller window on my back passenger side door only to pop the door handle and have the alarm chase them away. It was pretty bittersweet. I'm still looking for a cheap replacement window...

This is why I haven't painted my hood yet. Then it will look pretty and something will get stolen. I installed can lights in my second story eaves and have a motion light right by the cars. Nothing stolen yet, but knock on wood, it will happen now..
I do have the satisfaction of knowing that bad things will come to whoever does it. 2 years ago the police found my mower in the shed of a man who had been involved in a gang shooting.

We have had issues with people's chevy trucks getting stolen. (Apprently theives have found a way to quickly start them up) These guys literally follow trucks into restaurant parking lots, wait for the owner to go inside and strike. Imagine coming outside after a nice dinner to find that your truck is gone. Its sad what people will do to make money. They found one truck that was stolen just recently. Unfortunatly all that was left was the body and a few parts. Seats, engine, tires, gone.
I hate to hear when peoples stuff get taken. I hope you can find some replacements for a good price. Check roverlandparts.com when you get around to it.

My ex father in law was telling me once that in Canada there is a place where a guide takes you hunting, you ride a bush plane into the woods and leave your truck parked in a "secure" parking lot for 2 weeks while you hunt.
You come back and your truck is gone, they then sell your truck to Eskimos or whoever in the deep north that needs a 4x4 pick up truck, no registration, no insurance, no electricity, these people live off the land but still need transportation.
The hunting guide told them that if they go to the right place they will find Chevy's, Ford's and Dodge trucks with licence plates from all over Canada and the US, they dont even remove the plates because they dont care.
