Just want a quick confirmation about a MAF
It will die as soon as you unplug it the maf ... the mass air flow sensor tells the computer to send more fuel or more gas. Without it the mixture will be to rich or to lean and stall out.
Link to the amazon one? I looked for a min but didn't want to have this issue pop up again in a week or two after. What codes or issues did you fellas have prior to the replacement?
Is there a way to actually test the MAF to check for issues? I unplugged the sensor with the truck running and it died so i'm not too sure what that means.

This one will work. But I think it is for the 99-2002 which have a smaller diameter than the 03-04 due to larger engine.
I found the correct 03-04 one after buti just took the sensor out of the 99-2002 one and put it in my stock housing.

Bought. Hopefully this fixes the friggin SES light.
And in other news I just rebuilt the front driveshaft in about 2 hours. Really not that bad.
Hi guys,
I'll make this quick (hopefully).
I have an 01 D2 with about 125k on it. All service is current and I replaced the front two O2 sensors a couple months ago. I have a SES light on and keep getting the same 4 codes. Car is running great and has plenty of power.
0171, 0174, 1171, and 1174
I went to the local parts store to get these and the guy who first told me to ignore half of them cause "they don't mean anything" had me start the truck and D/C the MAF plug. I did and the engine died on the spot. He swears the MAF is good. I have sat here and searched through pages upon pages of MAF codes and searched every one individually.
I'm not sure if I'm at information overload or if my conclusion is correct. I need to replace the MAF. If so I will be purchasing it tomorrow with one from BP of Utah.
Thanks,
Mike

I had the same codes. Replaced plugs and wires. Replaced all intake related clamps with screw clamps. Fixed an exhaust leak. Replaced the filter box because of broken clamps. None of that stopped the codes.
Replacing the MAF was the only thing that fixed it. The broken filter box was the cause of the MAF failing. When I first checked it, there was a big bug plastered to the mesh of the MAF.
