Oh my god!!! Would you believe me if I said I had no ****ing idea that button was there??????? I am sending you a huge internet hug oh my god this is a life saver!!!!!!
Do you not have button 10? This should lock/unlock all doors. I assumed all D2s would have it but can't say personally.
Hi Ahab -
I wonder if you have time to answer another button question? I had never noticed this button below my steering wheel today and I cannot figure out what it is or find it in any diagrams. Do you know what this button is?
That is an aftermarket switch, hate to say it could be for anything. Do you have any extra lights mounted ?
Well, no... No extra lights.... Awhile ago I did nervously try switching it and I don't notice anything, but I'm also not really sure what I'm looking for. I wonder if extra lights were mounted and taken off before it was sold. Hmm.
No doubt not a LR switch. It looks a lot like the switch HELLA (and others) use in their lighting harness for driving and fog lamps.
Also check the rear of the truck, on top/sides and under the bumper for lights. Often people mount lights in the rear for additional backup/reverse.
If you really want to know what this switch does or did just trace the wires. At some point you will run into a relay and so on...….
Maybe the eccentric boat captain used that switch to power a bilge pump to remove the water from the leaking sunroofs.
Had same issue. Carefully solder the key together (without filling in the edge 'teeth') and take to ACE hardware. ACE has these key blanks and can cut a new key for a few $'s...... I do not remember the actual key blank code....but it was a standard blank....
NOTE: ACE will only cut their own key blanks.......no questions, no paperwork needed...

HELLA lighting harness...
I think you're right. I will have to trace the wires. I went out last night and switched it on and off, could not find an extra light. I think maybe the front grill at one point had some extra lighting on it? Not sure. The mystery continues.
I told my dad about your bilge pump comment and we had a good laugh. Dad's a commercial fisherman and I grew up working on boats. We are quite familiar with bilge pumps. LOL.
Does the CAR have an AUTO START on it? For some reason when I purchased a "new to me" vehicle they had a SWITCH like that mounted under neath. It was RELATED TO THE AUTO START...
