Key FOB not unlocking doors
Hi guys, I am having an issue with my 2000 Land Rover Disco. I went to unlock it this morning and my key FOB would not unlock the doors, and of course my door actuator on the drivers side is jacked up so I can't unlock the door manually with the key. I tried the EKA and that did nothing, I got no beeps, honks, change in the blinking red light on the dash.
This has happened before, last time I had to have a locksmith break in and of course the alarm starting going off and I could not start my Disco, I assume because of the immobilizer. Once the alarm starting going off I tried the EKA, which did the samething as above, but after five or so attempts my key FOB starting working but I got no indication that the vehicle accepted the EKA.
So I guess what I am getting at is, what should I do now. I feel that I got lucky last time with the key FOB randomly work or maybe that I did the EKA correctly and that it just didn't make a noise. Also, could there be a faulty part which is causing this problem to happen, second time in about two months.
Thanks in advance for the help,
JJ

I had to have driver side door lock and ignition lock replaced Friday on mine. Being that my Disco is 13 years old inside the driver side door lock was worn out as was the key. Very expensive repair to have done.
Right on, hopefully I don't have to replace much. But with this being the second time it has happened in two months I know I will. Also, looks like I'll be breaking a window to get in, always exciting! Locksmith can't make it today and the cost of replacing the window is actually less than the cost of a locksmith coming out.
Word, thanks for the info Pik. Ill be sure to fix the actuator before I start looking my Disco again. Going to give it another hour before I break the window, maybe somebody will have a fix to the issue.
OK, so I broke the window, on the second attempt. Video avaible if you'd like to see me break that bad boy, but i digress. OK so broke in, alarm didnt go off, nice alarm system yeah? Tried to start disco, but it was disabled. So unhooked battery and did a little research. Found a post about locking and unlocking three times to get it to reset. So hooked up battery, climbed in with horn blaring, use the center console lock/unlock three times and it reset the alarm and I was able to start my Disco. However, I still need to find out why this keeps happening so please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks
Thanks
