A while back I noticed my key fobed stopped working. Little red light on fob still lights up when any of the buttons on the unit are pressed. Changed the battery and still no luck. Last night while shutting off the truck I mistakenly pressed one of the key fob buttons with the key still in the ignition and the horn/alarm beeped. I was able to lock/unlock the truck with the fob still in the ignition but not when I remove the key from the ignition.

Perhaps the key fob is not bad? Is there any suggestions on how to make the fob work again from outside the truck? I was hoping that since it works while in the ignition that I can avoid a trip to the dealership for a replacement.
