Default only key is broken in half inside ignition

I have been searching for a way to get a key cut but everyone i have called wants 300+ dealer is at 395.

I have found some old threads where they say there was a diagram to get a push to start button and that would fix getting the truck started but i would still need a regular key cut to enter the vehicle. The last link i found said it was on discoweb but there is nothing there that sounds like it.

Anyone know of a place in the dfw that would cut a regular key or the diagram for the push button start.

All help is appreciated.

$2 will get you a key cut at ACE or Lowes that will work to get into/start the vehicle. It just won't activate the alarm/imobilization/keyless features.

Did you get the piece of the key out? You can remove the back/electric portion of the ignition switch and start it with a flat blade screwdriver. See third picture in the writeup below.

there is a key shop in Addison... that is where I got mine cut... Its over by the airport... but anyone should be able to cut the key (maybe not lowes or HD).
The disco doesn't have chip protection, so a blank key works fine, so long that you are not super locked... but I guess you have the remote, so that shouldn't be an issue..

if you get REALLY stuck, let me know, my buddy is a locksmith, and member of TX Rovers too
