I have a 1998 Discovery Series 1. Not sure if anyone can help, but I had a bent key which I had replaced the other day. The key slipped right in and started the truck immediately. When I got home, I could not get the key out. The ignition will turn to off to the aux point only - it will not turn completely off. This morning, my battery was dead and I had to have it boosted.

We've tried jiggling the key, someone suggested lightly tapping it. This problem did not begin until the first time I used the new key. Any suggestions? I've tried calling Land Rover - they tell me to bring the truck in to have them look at it - if it needs a new cylinder - that it could be a few days (closest dealer is 3 hours away).

Anyone run into a similar problem. Any suggestions?
