Key Transponder Swap
Is there a way to switch the transponders from one truck to another? Can I just simply swap out the modules w/o the need to "re-code"?
I have an 01 and an 04. I want to swap the electrical guts from the 01's key transponder into the 04's. The 04's key transponder buttons are non-existent.

I probably should have ran a search first. Boo me.
I think I found a solution to my broken transponder button problem.

It does not address your question about the key fob receiver but does have the solution to worn buttons on the fob.

The module is above the headliner over the 2nd row seats. That would be a LOT of work to swap modules, and I don't know with 100% certainty that would work.
The buttons on the fob circuit board are missing, or have the solder joints just broken? I only got one key when I bought mine, and have traded the circuit board to new key fobs over the years as the rubbers wore out, or the case cracked. I now have 3 keys that will start it...only 1 has working buttons.

That's what I was looking for. Thanks. Time to break out the magnifying glass and soldering gun.
