Exclamation Key won't turn in door lock

Got another weird issue. For some reason none of the keys I have will turn in the door lock cylinder on my 2001 Disco2. They work fine in the ignition lock cylinder.

I've not taken the panel off yet, but wanted to get your opinions on what could cause this. Not sure if it's the cylinder itself, or something loose or broke. I saw a post about some kind of shaft that broke on someone. I wouldn't think the actuator would cause it to not turn.

I'm going to take the panel off tomorrow (really late now) to take a look and see what's going on..

Dumb question, but where could I buy the lock barrel? Is there a way I can buy the ignition and door lock barrels to have matching set?

I tried cleaning and lubing the lock with some degreaser, then some silicone spray, but didn't do anything to help it...

I'd rather get a new or good used set of locks and keys to just replace them anyways if that's even possible..

Any suggestions? And thanks ahead of time for the help!

Having the same problem now. Changing out the barrels sounds like a good option. Any sources for these parts?

Hello, I've taken my driver door apart a few times for repair. so you took your door apart and then what? I'm guessing one of the little rods is disconnected in the door. make sure it's not a simple issue like that before you go sourcing our ignition barrels etc. Could be a very simple fix.
Does your door open and close properly with the handle?

You have to find some sets on ebay. Good to have both the steering wheel and door set so you dont have 2 separate keys. Also if the geared shaft inside is broken, you will still be able to lock / unlock the door but wont turn the actuator that locks all doors.
I tired so many master locksmith around but they wont touch the rover. They recommend to go to dealer which not an option for me.

Check out my thread on this topic. It's a little long and tells all the tale. You may want to skip down to post #13 for the nitty gritty.

Here's a link to a wafer kit available on Amazon. It's just the first one I found. The search was for "wafer lock rekeying kit." There are likely others on Amazon and probably on eBay.
