Default door lock mechanism sheared?

I put my key into the door lock and it only goes in half way and spins 360. I can't push it in further, would it be sheared and how would I go about fixing this?

I was in my truck and manually pushed down the door lock and then after this I started having this problem. I can't explain it.

I don't know about the key going only half way in, but here's my fix for it spinning 360.

Someone is now selling the same fix on eBay for $20. What's funny about it is that if you look carefully at the pictures you can see it is made from a nail, just like mine and those of many others.

Good luck.

Thanks. I am going to check this out.

Soon as I think everything is working good, there is something I gotta fix.

Replace the door lock mechanism.
If you have working FOBS there is NO REASON to ever put a key in the door.
My key has not gone in the door for a year and a half.

I have no fobs. I am just worried on how much it will be to get one from the dealer and have it programmed.

I think at this point I will be better off with leaving all the doors unlocked and letting someone steal it.
