Hi,

I am trying to get my keychain programmed on my 1997 Discovery. I found some instructions where you turn the ignition on then off then lock and unlock the doors depress the hood switch...... blah blah.... Anyway I later found out that is only up to 1995.

Then I found some instructions where you lock the door and hold the key in the lock position while you push the lock button on the keychain at the same time... then repeat for unlock.

I am having zero success here and I don't have an owners manual. Does anyone know how to do this... I've heard it's simple and only takes a few seconds.

I have had a 96 and a 98 and all I have been able to do is take it to the dealer and have them do it. A good dealer will do it for free and some (like mine) will charge $30. HOpe that helps.
