Been there; done that---I spent a lot of time with this, and with PMs to posters. Using what you suggest, I WAS able to create bar code for used fobs, bar codes that the creator of the system for creating the codes AGREED that I had done it right. Also spent a lot of time with my Hawkeye, trying to program used key fobs with those created bar codes; nothing worked. Emphasis, flat out, nothing worked, so I don't have a clue how you did it, how you got it to program used fobs---it sure as h... didn't work for me. And that is precisely why I contacted Bearmach and their subsidiary who makes the Hawkeye, to try to convince them to put the programming on next version of firmware, to program used key fobs, with success. Don't you think that, when I initially contacted them, if version 5 firmware would have somehow been able to program used key fobs, that they would have told me about it, or told me what I had to do to get the job done? No, they told me it couldn't program used fobs. So, I asked if they would be willing to include needed programming feature, for used fobs, in next updated firmware, version 6. After discussing it with their engineers for a day or two, they said that they could do what I asked, and that they would do as I asked. Now that version 6 firmware is out, it is nice that they included it. If anyone has any features they feel should be included on future updates of firmware, version 7 on, I strongly suggest that they do as I did, contact them, and ask that they include it on next update.

I got my codes from a land rover tech. Perhaps the codes reverse engineered on this site aren't exactly the same. I don't know. All I know is that I gave him my short codes, he gave me the longer codes, and I was able to program with older version of hawkeye.

I not only tried the bar codes developed by main guy on this forum who "reverse engineered" them, as you say, but he showed me how to do the developing. I repeatedly worked it out, getting same results as the guy who did the reverse engineering for codes. We both agreed that numbered bar code was correct, for given used fob, and we did it too for additional key fobs, so I could try more than just the one example. Further, I had a Land Rover technician not only do his "magic," but I also had him show me how he did it, how to get the code from the number on the little paper piece on top of the integrated circuit in the printed circuit inside the key fob. The bar code we worked out, and the ones the LR tech. worked out, agreed; they were the same. Yet Nothing worked; I could not program used key fobs with those bar codes with Hawkeye, version5---I don't give up easily.
Thus, as I said, I have no idea how you did it, how you got it to program used fobs.

 

Update: Ordered this key last week and had it cut to my original today at Ace Hardware and it works. Unlocks / locks and starts the Disco.

yes same with my vehcile. I need an actuall new key with responder. Whefe can I get a copy made. Right now, I have one transponder key! I made a spare key but need another key made with chip!

 

If you’re lucky you might find a fob at a wrecker. Then you can program your BCM to accept it with a Nanocom or similar reader.
