Default Leak from axle near tire?

I have a leak at the inside front driver side tire. I dont think its from the brake caliber. What parts do I need to go in and replace any seals that need to be replaced? Is this a difficult job or should I seek out a mechanic?
Thanks,
Jason

You may have a leaking hub. Either it is the Hub O ring or the hub itself.

Hub O Ring - http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/FTC4919G.cfm

Rear Hub - http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/TAY100050.cfm

Verify that it is gear oil and not brake fluid. Take the wheel off and clean the brakes with brake parts cleaner.

I had a leaking rear hub and I used White Shepherd stop leak and that with a new O ring fixed it.

What sort of fluid is actually leaking, brake fluid or a heavy colored gear grease?

Its more of a grease/gear oil rather than brake fluid.

Take care of that or it will ruin your brake pads and make a huge mess. Also your gear oil level will drop and will cause premature wear in your front differential.

Note that there is no o'ring for the front hub, that is in the rear. The front axel has an oil seal you need to replace. You need to take off your rotors, remove the 4 hub bolts, and pull the entire hub assembly with axel attached. You can then change the oil seal.

Lipadj46, the part you listed is for a D2. I have a 96. Is it the same part? Whats the chance that I have a leak from the swivel ball? How can you tell if its leaking? Should I order a seal for the swivel ball just in case?

Gear oil has a distinct smell. Does it smell like gear oil? Yes it could be from the swivel ball also.

Not the same part for a DII. I'm just guessing here that you need to just rebuild your wheel bearings:
