Default Left (drivers) cat fell off.

Doesnt seem to be too much in the vicinity of it that can take heat damage.

Should I bother scratching around to tack it back on?

??? Confused about your question. If it's too rusty you need a new one, if it's bad enough to fall off you should really get a new Y pipe

Oops. That's because i'm a dim wit. I meant to say the left cat 'heat shield' fell off.

Its only a thin weld in a couple of places. Its been rattling for a while, but today bit the dust.

Cant edit a post title. Sorry for the confusing question.

You do need to replace it or face heat damage.
