Default Left Turn Squeek

2001 Disco II, 98520 miles, when I turn to the left I get a squeek from the front left tire area. Could it be the steering damper in need of replacement? No noises on right turn.

I'm open for any thoughts.

Does it happen every time you turn left? Is the squeek constant throughout the whole turn? Do you feel a vibration in the steering wheel?

Default squeek Part 2

It squeeks at the beginning of a left hand turn. Doesn't matter if the vehicle is moving or not. No vibration or shaking, just the squeek.

The sound is definately coming from the front driver's side under the hood/behind the tire well. I'll try to record and post it later for you.

Power steering fluid is full...when the motor is running it seems to churn up quite a bit (looks like it's boiling in the reserve tank.) Never noticed that in other vehicles.

I have a similar issue, and have greased the crap out of everything, and even had it looked at by my local indie mechanic, to no avail.

There is a TSB out there somewhere regarding an issue close to what you are describing, but I can't find it right now. You might be able to call the dealer and have them look it up? Or if you have more time, try to Google it to find it.
