Default Lift Kits...

So ive been wanting to do some modifications to my 2004 Discovery II...

Ideally I want to transform the car into that ARB car seen here ... http://www.roversnorth.com/store/pop...ge/3932020.JPG

does anyone know about how much of a lift that car has?

My main question was about the lift... Ive seen several packages which all seem to lift the car about 1 - 2inches. Ive heard that doing a suspension lifit is much better than just putting in spacers.

Has anyone had any experience which this kit in particular... it claims to do a 2" inch lift and works great on and off road.

http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-1...covery-ii.aspx

also, about how much would a mechanic charge to install such a kit? And would I run into any issues with line (brake etc...) being too short with a 2" lift?

A few guys have installed the Terra Firma kit. Few updates on the long term. Justin at lucky 8 really likes them and in the Uk they are very popular.

That is one sweet rig isnt it....
Thats pic was the reason i went with the ARB sahara bumper... but before you spend almost 1400 on it keep in mind its an advertisement pic...

1) it comes grey powder coat...you need to paint it to match the truck like in the pic.
2) the angle that pic its taken dosent give u an idea how big and heavy that bumper is. Its a serious piece of steel and comes out almost a foot in front of the grill
3) i bet there is lots photographic skills and photoshop involved...

Dont get me wrong..I like the bumber... not as much as i like the pic though
I do wish it did not look as bulky.
If u are member of land rovers only forum... i have a post with some pics there... take a look i hope it helps
Also look in here i posted some pixs on a thread here

That vehicle in the picyc is most "Likely" fitted with OME shocks and springs which will give it about a 40mm lift.

Got OME's on the front of mine, with SLS spacers on the rear and Terrafirma +2" shocks allround. The brake lines have been replaced with +2" stainless hoses and Im contemplating the ABS lines as well as the rear right is VERY tight on full axle droop.

Oh and what LOTS of people fail to mention or do, is "if" you fit longer travel shocks, your front prop will hit the front crossmember on full droop, so that needs to be spaced aswell.

Those ARB sahara bars do seem to protrude a little further than the winch bar I have on mine, still looks smart tho, the real funny thing is in the UK "we" are not allowed the chrome tube LMFAO, so when the bumper gets to the UK importer it is simply thrown away!!!

One of the reasons I imported mine myself from california.....

i was thinking long and hard before i went with the sahara. i see you went with the deluxe ARB, i saw it mounted on a truck here in a dealership and thought it was to much steel for a truck that will be mostly driving in the streets of NYC, the only difference between the deluxe and sahara seems to be the crome tube vs the whole front of the truck being protected...
its quite a bumper thou... 2 weeks ago doing 60 on a highway, the cab in front of me just slamend on the breaks.....all i was thinking was "F*** my bumper will be end up on his back seat", never did i worry i would get hurt...ha ha. was able to stop a few inches from his trunk....
my point is... the advertisemnt pics can sometime cost ya more money that you had thought..... its about 300$ to get that bumper painted to match the truck, but then it looks freaking awsome......

BTW.... love what you have dont with your rig.....
