lift and tires
Need some recommendations for lifting an '01 disco. I was thinking about a 2" rte or ome with a265/75/16 tire andwould like it tobe astiffer ridethan stock. Just need a little help on which setup to gowith.
I have a '99 DII, and in the past week I have gone from the stock springs and shocks and 18s, to OME HD 2" kit w/ steering stabilizer and put on 265/75/16's...
Not only is the ride stiffer, but the over all feel and control of thetruck is much better...

I have heard that will give you more like 3" with the sag in the original suspension. I know a lot of people go with OME lifts and are very pleased with the ride. I think ajh has the setup you are looking at, he might reply.....

I've currently actually got RTE in the front and spacers in the back. I'm trying to figure out what way I'm going to go for a more drastic suspension upgrade this year though.

If not, the sky is the limit.

Have you checked your t/case to see if it has CDL for more agresive wheeling?
Nope no ace. I'm looking at a number of options up to an including going coilover with a 4-link front. I'm getting the sense though that keeping the stock-type setup is going to happen, I do like the idea of ride height adjustment on the coilover though as well as spring preload adjustment.
Also looked at my castor/pinion issue a bit more and the easiest fix looks like just replacing the rear front arm mounts with ones that are 1.1" lower which should fix both and put me right to 0 degrees out of spec. Should be easier and cheaper than doing arms too, if I was say doing a 5" lift then it would need to be a combination of the two but I can't see going that high. If I decide I need that much clearance I'll bite the bullet and get some D60's with Portaltek boxes or something similar.

A couple of thoughts, both OME and RTE have 4 different spring ratings, on mine I am runing OME 751 coils in the front and the RTE 2" spacer and height adjuster in the rear with my air bags, I have an even 3' lift.
