Default Light up like a Christmas Tree!

Hi all,
I purchased my '99 Disco II about 2 years ago with 117,000 miles on it. I've been adamant to keep up with all of the regular maintenance, replaced tires, done some minor cosmetic work, etc. So far *knock on wood* we've only had two major repairs on it: replacing a blown head gasket and removing & replacing a broken water pump. Now approaching 140,000, I've started noticing an electric "humming" noise when slowing down to stop (usually between 5-10 mph). Could there be something wrong with the braking system?
Also, after having taken it on 2 lengthy highway trips recently, I've noticed that occasionally when I apply the brakes, all of the yellow warning lights on the dashboard will light up (the ABS warning light, the Traction Control, and the Downward Slope Assistance light) along with a "ding". We've had the brakes checked by one of our local mechanics that has worked with the truck in the past. Is this something that I should suck up and take to the dealership and endure the beating??
Thanks!
Natalie

I thought with 3 amigos the lights came on and stayed on..so it can be intermittent when braking?

Natalie,
If the lights come on once in awhile, I would suggest you do a full, 3 pint brake flush. Also, are your brakes squeaking?

Wow, I had no idea I was in such great company with the "three amigos" problem! After reading through the 1,000s of posts on this topic, it seems this is a very common problem with the D2s (with several possible causes!) and it got me wondering: how come no assistance/recall from LR!?

Anyways, thanks for all the tips! We cleaned off the ABS sensors and inspected all the wiring (seemed to be a good place to start) and put those amigos to rest! Until a week ago at least...now this will become my Memorial Day Weekend project when I can get out the diagnostic stuff and really try to crack what's going on. I'll let ya'll know if we come across anything interesting/helpful/confusing!

Thanks again!

There is little or nothing you can do to trouble shoot the 3 Amigos.
You might want to PM me your tele number so I can walk you thru what is coming up.
