Limp mode
hello,
I just purchased a 04 Disco 2 with 126,000 miles on it, very clean no rust from Texas, I had. good deal but I am new to this vehicles
before I took it to Jiffy Lube there was no lights on the dash and the service they done is:
Flush the radiator
Engine oil change with filter
Transmission oil
Differential oil change
Bleed the brakes
My problem is that as soon as I left the station 10 miles in I had a Limp Mode , I took it to another shop and they connected a computer and they said O2 sensors, so I got all 4 and still doing it
Battery is from 12/23 so its fairly new
I cleaned the MAF sensor with MASS cleaner and still doing it
good thing my temperature is no higher than 180
the previous owner replaced the ZFS Transmission Shift Switch XYZ
I have Ultraguage that came with truck and the code that comes up a lot is P1884
Any input?

First thing to note is that they probably didn't follow the correct procedure to fill the transmission. At a guess I'm going to say that the fluid level is low.
P1884 is not a detailed code. You need a Rover-aware code reader to tell you what the real problem is. There are several situations that can cause that code to pop -- many related to the transmission.
Also, I have never been able to successfully clean a MAF.

You're code could be some 8 different things. Since you don't have access to a nanocom or other lr specific scanner try some easy common issue diagnostics
First things to check is making sure the MAF is plugged in fully.
Secondly, check charging voltage. These zf transmissions are very sensitive to low voltage issues. When your alternator decides not to work properly you're stuck in 3rd gear. Easy fix but not fun getting home to do the fix. You can do 60 but sadly even an obs f350 non turbo 7.3 will get to 60 before you.
also check grounds. There's a ground strap cable to the engine under the alternator, right by the thermostat on the front fan side of the alternator mount bracket. There's another at the back of the driver's cylinder head.
A bad or forgotten ground can cause weird issues.

Please, anyone out there, do not go to Jiffy Lube for any of the same issues. That just opened up a “can of worms”.Oil change, maybe but find a real mechanic and hopeful you have done that already. Also learn you truck.“QUOTE=vpedraza64@icloud.com;885401]hello,
