Default In-line T-stat mod question.

So I have everything ordered per Jay's wright up. I have poured over the forum threads and I still have a bit of confusion. My D2 has the rubber wye and not the plastic one. I really am not wanting to buy a complete hose kit for just that wye.. The lower w.p. hose is soft and and probably ready to die soon anyway where it connects to the w.p. from yrs of oil leaks. Most of the pics on here seem to focus on the other hoses and not the wye.
Is there another way to get around this or is it possible to reuse the rubber wye and splice nipples., or is there a different part that can be had at like Autozone cheaply?

I assume you are talking about the lower wye. I have never seen a rubber one, only plastic or as a complete hose octopus. I recently had the lower plastic Y crack at one of the nipples due to age - very common with the plastic bits. If the hoses are soft you should replace them all - I just bought the entire assy off ebay for $35, new hoses and new wye.
