link for building CDL linkage?
I forgot about rust. Aluminum will work much better than steel considering this linkage for the T-case is going to be blasted with road grime, mud, and water.

Some Aluminum will break if you try to do a sharp bend. The aluminum work hardens when bent. Bend the aluminum with a radius rather then a sharp bend. And look for cracks in the bends when your done.

You can use a torch, but if you get it to hot it will melt. Personaly I would use steel for everything. Aluminum can strip out on the flats of the transfercaseat the worst time. I used 4130 for my cdl arm and mild steel for therest of it.

okay so i have my metal now, $15 at home depot for a stick of aluminum for brackets, and a stick of steel for handle. but i dont know what nut to get to secure the bracket to the nipple, help? haha
I know this is a very old thread but I was hoping that someone would have a picture and the dimensions of the outside CDL handle/bracket these guys came up with.
The original link is no longer active (there used to be a picture and dimensions) and I never saved the picture.
Any help would be appriciated!

I realized my request might not have been too clear.
What I am looking for is a picture with dimensions of a CDL handle that is accessible from under the drivers side door.
You pull/push it to engage/disengage the CDL.
There is a link in the 2nd posting of this thread that used to have the plans for making one but it is now a dead link.
If anyone has a copy they could post or send me I would appriciate it.
Thanks
