Default little fan

The small fan next to the steering wheel and mirror adjuster. How does one clean it? There two phillips head screws but they are near impossible to get at.

Or,how do I remove the mirror adjuster?
I think I could pull the plastic trim off the front and get to the fan.

I got much of the junk out, but would like to do a better job.

Or, just spray some lube in there to quiet it down?

Thanks,

I thought I had something stuck and vibrating in between the windshield and dash, like a leaf. I have plenty of bike grease and will have to do this fix. Looks pretty simple.
