Lockers recommended?
Just got my 01 disco a month ago, havn't wheeled with it yet(other than new development climbing some hills) i have the CDL installed, does anyone recommend putting a front or rear locker in or both? I'm just not sure if it is needed or not. i won't be doing anything to extreme but i do want it to be very capable! if so, which is best a detroit or an air locker. Thanks in advance

I wouldn't get a locker just yet, save your money and get a Hi-Lift jack and a good recovery strap.
About the only thing you will need a locker for is DEEP mud or climbing Mount Everest.
Every time I have been stuck, a locker would not have helped, the Hi-Lift did the trick, a winch would have been easier and quicker.
You can buy the Jack at your local farm supply store or farm tractor dealer.
You can buy them on-line too but they are cast iron and a overweight whipping charge will be added.

I do live in the Mountains, just not Everest!lol. Thanks for the info, i've got the hi-lift, 4" strap, logging chain, shackles on the front and i just bought a hitch for the reciever at the rear, in which i put a beefy shackle. I'll save my nickles for now. i was looking at a hand powered puller (8000lbs) the other day for $70 that i might buy till i can afford a winch.
Unless you're doing rock crawling the main thing lockers will do it let you get even more stuck. Ok, that's simplistic, but there's a fair amount of truth to it. An extension of my sig line really.
Also with lockers you're talking upgrade to HD half-shafts at the same time unless you're a very experience off-roader and really know your vehicle and even then there's a good chance of breaking a stock half-shaft.
Unless you're rock crawling, or off-roading where there aren't any anchor points, I strongly suggest a winch before lockers.
Don't get a $79 8,000lb come-a-long, it'll be crap. If you want a come-a-long get a Mazdam or More Power Puller. They are quality but cost around $160.
A hi-lift can be used as a come-a-long but you can't move more than a foot or so at a time, then you have to re-rig, plus they can be extremely dangerous (read fatal), particularly in inexperienced hands. And especially when being used as a come-a-long.

Fern, two reasons for lockers, extra traction when needed and much stronger then Rovers stock 2 spider gear set up.
Wait awhile, learn how to drive it with the CDL, if you then decide you want even more traction then get back to us and lets talk some combination of lockers.
