Default Locks not working please check this out.

When I was looking at the disco before I bought it the keyless remote worked fine, the day I picked it up it was no longer working, figured the remote just need to be reprogrammed by rover... Well today I was told when you press down on the drivers door lock all the locks should work, this isn't the case, it's not locking or unlocking the other doors...

Also I put a new battery in the remote that came with the car, and by messing around with it I was able to trigger the alarm, then disarm it, so the remote works... seems to me like what's not working is the lock itself..

Now I don't have a manual, but going by the fuse box I checked the fuse labled with a door and key, and the fuse looked fine...

What else could this be guys?

TIA.

HI there, I have the same problum with my 1996 disco. I am almost sure you have a bad connection. It has nothing to do with the remote. The funny thing with mine is , after a heavy rain the locks work as they should. I don,t drive it much in the summer and have not been able to get to it. Hopefully one of the Land Rovers Wizards on the forum will be able to help us both.

Yeah that would be nice, I'm guessing there is a loose connection in the drivers side door... Anyone?

97 I'm not even sure what NAS or ROW is though... Let me explain a little more...

When you close the doors, the horn chirps, when you try to start the car, the alarm goes off... If I play with the locks on the doors, opening them and closing them, I can disarm the alarm, but it takes a while. Also the doors arn't unlocking with the remote or by using the drivers side lock.

Any info would be awesome as I'm just not familiar with these cars enough to work this out myself right now.

Well I got access to a service manual, turns out the alarm ground was loose, and blowing fuse number 13, "alarm fuse" I dabbed a drop of red locker on the ground, replaced the fuse and not even is the alarm working correctly the keyless remote and power doors are too.

North American Spec, Rest Of World. Where was the loose ground that caused the blown fuse?

Thanks,

There was a ground behind the passenger side kick pannel, it had about a MM of play, after cranking that down I just popped in a new 15amp fuse in slot 13 and it's been fine all day. Drove maybe 100 miles today, making tons of stops, no issues.

Where exactly behind the passenger kick panel? Next to... what?
Maybe I am not looking at the right one.
