Default Looking at 99 disco II windows and locks not working and sunroof leaks

It's black on tan and it has 124,000 miles on it. The windows and power locks don't work and the power steering hums when the wheels are turned. Should I stay away? Are these easy fixes? I'm mechanically inclined and I have owned a disco I. Besides those what should I look for? Thanks

also looking at a 95 range rover with 140k miles as well. The guy says engine light came on las week. Anything to look out for?

windows and locks could just be a fuse. Do all the windows not work or just the fronts or rears? The fronts are controlled by the Body Control Module and the rears are not. I figured that one out the hard way. Another check is to see if the power seats work, as they share the same fuse as the front windows. 50amp fuse in the engine compartment.

Sun roof leaks are normal, wear a rain coat. It depends what you mean by windows not working, do you hear anything when you press the window buttons? The plastic parts on the window regulators enjoy breaking just to make life interesting. Power steering hum could be air in the system.

I just went through this after selling by D1 and buying a 00 D2. Fact is, these trucks have issues and my LR mechanic made a good point, regardless of the one you buy, you're gonna have to put money into it. Just ensure you are getting it at a price where you are comfortable dropping another $1500 into it.

When we were shopping for our D2 we were entertaining good condition 99 1/2 D2's for roughly $3000. That's with 99,000 miles on it. if you are paying more than that i would say don't bother.

Thanks for the info guys. The guy had to bail for today so I am seeing it tomorrow. I am pretty sure all of the windows don't work and the locks as well. It could be that the guy just doesn't know what he is doing. I'll let you all know how it goes tomorrow
