Default Looking to buy a 96 disco

I have come accross a 96 disco with 206 kms on it. I am new to Land Rovers and need some advice. Are these vehicles prone to expencive repairs on a regular basis? What are common problems with them? I have heard 2 very different opinions on this from reputable mechanics and cant make up my mind. It is in very good shape and just needs new tires. It was dealer maintained to the book and they only want $4000.00 Canadian. Is this a good deal? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Great site by the way.

Forget what everybody else says. Use good quality parts/fluids, do your maintenance when you're supposed to and this will be the most reliable truck money can buy. If it's as good of shape as you say it is that sounds like a decent buy, but you could work them down a bit on the price. Good luck, and welcome to the world of being completely obsessed with your truck

Keep up with the maintenance and the trucks will run forever. Like all vehicles they have their problems that will pop up regardless but overall they are excellent vehicles.
