I found my truck advertised on craigslist. Soon as I got home from work I went and looked at it and drove it. I bought from a small dealership that specializes in foreign cars and was quite impressed with how thoroughly he goes through each vehicle he brings in before putting it up for sale. I will admit that I got lucky with my truck and bought the first Rover I test drove. I paid $3700 for my Rover with 108,000 miles at the time and now am having to put a water pump and head gaskets in it meaning that I will have what the truck is worth invested in it.

Even though I have a D-II, I'll chime in. I would strongly recommend trying to buy locally, or at least reasonably close to your location so that you can test drive them. I drove 12 different D-II's before I settled on my 2000. It was the most mechanically sound one of the bunch, and very few cosmetic flaws. My only real complaint so far is that black plus south Texas sun equals real damn hot.

I have a 2000 Discovery 2 that is in great shape. It has 108K miles onit, runs great, looks awesome, has brushguard package, good tires and best of all... No warning lights are on !!! Seriously, it seems to be in excellent condition, has had O2 and Mass airflow sensors replaced, coil suspension kit added, and has had the front drive shaft replaced with the greasable U-joints. I am asking $6250 and located in East Tennessee, so not far from you if you are interested. Good luck in your LR search.

Does anyone out there know of anyone or any good websites or anything like that, that has a good running discovery DI from 1997-1999, well heck any year DI? Maybe something with less than 100K miles?
I might have one for sale in the near future, and we'reabout 350 miles from each other.
