Looking into an 04 D2 SE:
Well I recently got back into LR's with my 98 D1 LSE, and I've got two Hummer H3's as my main D/D's. One is the rather hard to Find Alpha edition with the 5.3L V8 while the other is an Adventure model with rear locker and 4.1 transfer case.
Well after getting my D1 and fixing it up and driving it, I started to miss my 03 D2 SE that I used to have back in 05. The one I found is an 04 SE so it will have the CDL, and it's only got 105K on it. The guy is asking 4K for it, and he says it's been very well maintained. He says it has a few cosmetic issues, like a cracked front bumper fascia, but here is the cool part. A brand new ARB Bumper still in the box comes with it!!!
It has new tires, a new radiator, and it was just in for a tune up.
I know to check for the 3 Amigo's, fluid leaks, CDL operation, and the usual used car stuff. Anything else I need to check? It's been a while since I've been around an 03/04 D2.
After I get it, and install the ARB Bumper, I honestly plan on selling one of my H3's myself and using the left over $$$$ towards building a shop/garage at my place.
Any info would be great.

I ended up getting it for 3800.00 since the RR hub was leaking 80/90w and it ruined the rotor/pads and they went metal to metal. I put around 500 miles on it the day/night I bought it, and it's already got a nickname "Bullet". I was stopped on my way home by DPS and I was clocked at 91.9MPH......... Officer walked up to my passenger window and of coarse it wouldn't go down. I told him to just open the door and I explained that I just bought it. He said well I know one thing the gas pedal works. I was honest and I said I know it's got larger tires than stock and I had no idea how much I was off. He was extremely nice and said if everything checked out I was just receiving a warning as he was taking my word for it.
Out of all my years I have never had a DPS Officer let me go especially for speeding like that!!!!! I was so impressed with how nice that Officer was vs acting like judge/jury/robocop. He smiled and said have a nice day sir so after that "Silver Bullet" or "Bullet" will be it's nickname.
I've only had it a week and a half now, and I've fixed a bunch of serious things from the brakes, replaced starter, RR hub, vacuum lines for SAI, radiator support, remove trashed OEM bumper, install the AB Metal Winch Bumper (came free with the D2), clean battery terminals, change the oil, repaired RF window motor (still need a new regulator) but it does go up/down now.
Mechanically it's sound now, but I have the AC to investigate as it seems to have R134A in it, but it refuses to cool. I cleaned the auto sensor which was full of dirt/fuzz, but that made no difference. Compressor turns on, and it tries to cool at idle, but once you move or drive it barely cools. I know it's more of a computer HVAC vs a D1 so I'm kinda clueless on trouble shooting it.
Sounds like a lot, but it is solid otherwise CDL works, no three amigos, no CEL's (only two it had was for the XYZ switch (probably because the battery was weak for sitting 6months), and a HVAC compressor fault. After the starter install I had the P1413/P1415 faults, but thats when I noticed all the silly melted lines, and I had started it with one disconnected by the right side SAI valve. I repaired that cleaned the battery, and the faults haven't come back.
I just need to paint the headliner (sagging due to leaking front sunroof), fix sunroof drains, rear locks, possible sunroof ECU, look into the HVAC, and a window regulator.
It has other worn items like ball joint boots that are torn, but they seem good for now. My wife and I are trying to build a shop/garage so we're selling an H3 to help pay for that, and my wife will drive my H3 Alpha with the V8, and I'll be in the D2.
I'd eventually like a 2inch lift, replacement metal rear bumper (shell is cracked on the OEM one), and a winch. I'd also love a set of 03/04 16 inch rims vs the 18 inch Hurricanes I have, but that isn't really important since my D2 does have some fairly new larger 18inch tires
