Default looking for part name and source

2003 Disco II

I would call it a cowl screen or filter but cant find it. It is the black mesh material that is held in place with compression clips. It covers the fresh air intake grate below the home position of the wipers. Mine has totally dereriorated and I dont want leaves bugs or pine needles getting into my ducts.

Looking for the correct name and where ( other than dealer) I can get some.

Thanks

Randy

If you want it you may have to get past this other then the dealer attitude or make your own replacement cause no one else has it.

hag1128,

I replaced mine as well...I think the previous owner let it sit under a pine tree for to long...what you are looking for is what they call "Foam fresh air intake"; part number JZL100120.

Best price I found is here: http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-1...covery-ii.aspx

It is called the pollen filter.
Go to the Home Depot, buy a window A/C filter and cut it to fit.
Exact same thing for 1/4 the price.

Good to know on that item from the "depot" I need some too. On a side note the connectors located in that area near the filters I believe were for the front electric defrost if you had that option. Is it ok for those connectors to be there exposed to moisture and other elements or is there nothing on the other end connected to them?

There's nothing live in those connectors unless you have that option installed, in that case, it is a weather proof connector. And you guys have really got to try shopping at Lowe's instead of Home Depot.
