Default Low Pressure Oil Light not coming on?

My low pressure oil light is not coming on even when first turning on the ignition switch. If the sending unit were bad, would it be on all the time or could this keep it from lighting up altogether. Is there anything to check other than the in dash bulb itself before replacing the sending unit?

There is no bulb it is a LED.
It is either a unplugged sending unit or a bad unit.
Cheap and easy to replace.
It is located above the oil filter on the side of the engine.
